Reading Room

In 2006 ARTSPACE created a Reading Room next to the office where visitors can come and browse a huge resource of local and international contemporary art publications.

ARTSPACE aims to develop the knowledge, awareness and understanding of contemporary art. The philosophy behind the Reading Room is to make available the most up-to-date information on contemporary art to our community.

Through the Reading Room's easily accessible interface and by housing the most recent publications, it's a destination for research. It includes a wide range of resources including catalogues, monographs, artists' books, periodicals, videos, DVDs and music.

All of the material is less than two years old or directly related to the ARTSPACE programme. After two years the material is passed on to the Henderson Library where it will continue to be available to the public.

This is a one of a kind resource in Auckland which is free to view by anyone. As it is constantly updated and added to you will always find something of interest.
