Reading Room

Alongside the gallery, Artspace maintains a public reading room, stocked with local and international monographs and artist publications, books of art history and critical theory and a wide range of art magazines and periodicals.
Recent acquisitions include:
- Advance reading copies of Dane Mitchell's new publication Radiant Matter I/II/III
- Peter Robinson's Ack and Other Abdications
- Peter Friedl's Secret Modernity and Playgrounds
- Reason and Rhyme, the catalogue of the recent ST PAUL St exhibition
- Newly donated books by AUP, Random House and Te Papa Press
The Reading Room is open to the public during gallery hours, and staff are on hand to help you with particular research or just to recommend an interesting read. Photocopying facilities are also available for a nominal fee (and free for Artspace members).
Donations and exchanges are very much appreciated--if you are interested in this, or would like more information about the Reading Room in general, please contact Arron.
To coincide with First Thursdays, Artspace stays open late to hold Reading Room Sports: activities for the bookish and the sporty. Next event will be held on Thursday 1 March 2012.
