Tween Poster Series by Kelvin Soh
Tween #1
20 JULY - 5 AUGUST
Auckland designer / artist Kelvin Soh presents a poster from his ongoing series entitled Tween. It is contextualised in the slippage of time in-between scheduled exhibitions, a kind of ‘dead time’ when the gallery is closed for the dismantling of one show and the preparation for the next - the space of art in a state of becoming. Referred to as an 'inhibition poster' (as opposed to 'exhibition poster'), it is displayed in the poster box outside Artspace and acts as a kind of ‘intermission’ while the space is in transition. Absent of use value, Tween attempts to explore design from the position of fiction and is a reflexive thought experiment about space, duration and representation. An edition of the poster will be produced and made available as part of this ongoing series.
