2010 Communications & Education Internship
ARTSPACE 2010 Communications & Education Internship
Call for Applications
ARTSPACE is dedicated to presenting challenging and innovative contemporary art projects by local and international artists of merit. We aim to provide the creative space for artists to develop new and groundbreaking art works. Each year we produce, exhibit and communicate a world-class programme through our exhibitions, talks and lectures by artists, scholars and commentators and a wide range of publications.
ARTSPACE is looking for an intern to join our small and dedicated team. This is a unique opportunity for an innovative communicator with a passion for promoting and interpreting contemporary art. The ARTSPACE Communications & Education Internship is a one year mentored programme. The successful applicant will receive a broad range of training and opportunities. Ideally you will be knowledgeable about contemporary art and interested in the fields of art education and media.
Audience development and public accessibility is paramount to what we do. We operate with the important belief that there is no art too challenging or difficult for audiences, rather it is about how the work is presented. One of the primary purposes of the internship is to promote fuller understanding of the work of contemporary Asian artists, and to expand and develop cultural diversity among our audiences, with a particular focus on Asian migrant communities.
This internship is part of the Asian Aucklanders and the Arts scheme and is funded by Creative New Zealand and ASB Community Trust.
